Given the geometry of the roofs, close collaboration with the design team allowed us to provide a scheme which was simple for the roofing contractor to install, ensuring the system would perform at it’s optimum for years to come.

Creating such a severe rate of fall, as requested for the roofing system, posed its own challenge. The solution was to layer various non-combustible tapered boards on top of one another, each to a different rate of fall, to achieve the required overall finished fall. This coupled with long distances between outlets and height restrictions meant that producing an efficient tapered gutter design that would connect each drainage point proved to be another potential obstacle. However, the Linroc Design Team were more than up to the test.

As with all large projects, programme was key. Our team here at Linroc liaised perfectly with the site team to ensure the strict delivery schedule was met fully, allowing the site team to meet the programme. This was made particularly tricky due to the nature of the project, and the fact that it was on a live mainline network, space was at a premium, and delivery windows had to be hit to avoid delays not only to the roofing contractor but to the wider project.
