Location: Derby
Our team designed and supplied a 3500m² hybrid tapered insulation scheme for the Moorways Sports Village in Derby.
Working closely with the syphonic drainage manufacturer, SAPOFLOW, to ensure all parameters were met, our design team had to use various rates of fall to ensure all height restrictions were accommodated.
Working to a tight budget a Linroc Elite hybrid solution was specified and careful phasing ensured both budget and programme were met. The high profile scheme was already vastly over budget so the Client and contractor were extremely happy with not only the Design Linroc provided but also the value engineered solution.
The Solution
Linroc Elite is a hybrid tapered insulation system that incorporates the versatility of tapered EPS and the high-performance insulation properties of PIR. The system is the most cost-effective option for a tapered solution, so combined with the technical benefits it was an easy decision for the client to opt for our proposed specification.
Linroc Elite allowed the team to design a gutter detail to create the correct head of water for the syphonic drainage system and incorporated differing rates of fall to ensure the height restrictions were overcome. This was only possible with Elite.
The Outcome
This was a huge roof and through collaboration with the site team the materials and deliveries were phased to ensure that as soon as roof areas were released the team could insulate and waterproof without delay allowing internal works to progress.
To ensure correct installation we provided detail plans with section build-ups and set-out points for the roofing team, both electronically and large laminated copies direct to site.
We’re pleased to report the project went with out a hitch and has bene performing as specified ever since, all covered by a single point warranty supplied by the waterproofing manufacturer.
